Blizzard’s latest creation has set a record. Diablo Immortal is the worst PC game on Metacritic.
Diablo Immortal can now be played on mobile devices with Android and iOS. PC players can join the fray in an open beta version. At the first reviews, the majority of mobile gamers were very satisfied with Blizzard’s concoction. Meanwhile, here too changed the opinion, with only 3.7 instead of 4.8 (out of five stars), whereby the hardware requirements for smartphones, the imprecise touchscreen control and the microtransactions are criticized. The PC version, on the other hand, was and is unpopular since the start of the beta. Meanwhile, the PC version reaches one User rating of 0.2 out of 10 on Metacritic. As a result, Diablo Immortal is the lowest rated video game from developer Blizzard and the worst game on Metacritic.
Microtransactions annoy many players
previously had Warcraft III Reforged from the year 2020 with a rating of 0.6 points holds the crown for Blizzard’s worst PC game. Many players are bothered by the fact that important features – such as clans, custom campaigns, ladders / rankings – are missing from the original. The way Blizzard has integrated the microtransactions is particularly annoying. There are different in-game currencies, and some players receive advertisements for a microtransaction instead of a reward for a win. Players seem to have some tolerance for free mobile games, but things are different on PC. In addition to the concept of financing, a number of bugs and missing graphic settings nip the fun in the bud. At the time of release, Blizzard had asserted that the game could also be played without using real money. However, the developers didn’t say a word about systems like Awakening. Elder Rifts can be made more difficult with Rare and Legendary Crests, which reward Legendary Gems. In addition to Legendary Gems, there are also Awakened Legendary Items and Resonance, which offer even more power.
Diablo Immortal
With its low Metacritic rating, it fits almost seamlessly into Activision Blizzard’s list of poorly rated video games. In 2019, the developers had World of Warcraft Classic, the last PC game that was reasonably convincing with a user rating of more than six points, and since then no game from the studio has been convincing. Maybe the turnaround will succeed with Diablo 4 in 2023.Also worth reading: Diablo 4: Release 2023, beta registration possible and gameplay trailer released
