Mutant dinosaurs bursting from wormholes in thousand-packs and super-powered exoskeletons showering them copiously in depopulated urban environments, all accompanied by a brutal and crazy soundtrack: Exoprimal looks like a Capcom game from the early 2000s, the kind of shoot uninhibited that could have come out in the early hours of the Dreamcast. There’s even a Lost Planet thing in there. With the difference that the title of Capcom will be played only online, in teams of five against five, in different game modes where it will be a question of accomplishing objectives imposed by a facetious artificial intelligence to win.
The presentation of the title released by Capcom revealed just two of them: a “VTOL Defense” mode consisting of defending downed planes, and a second, called “Omega Charge”, in which each member of the team is given a giant model hammer with which to smash the enemy hordes. If the confrontation between the two rival squads should liven up most games, it will sometimes be necessary for them to join forces to overcome titanic creatures like the Neo Tyrannosaurus seen in this trailer.
Capcom has also unveiled several exoskeletons that it will be allowed to drive and the publisher obviously plans to market new ones after the release of its title. A closed beta will be held during the month of July, without a precise date having been announced for the moment. The commercial version of the game, however, will not be available until next year.
