Bohemia Interactive has become accustomed to providing regular updates to its community, so it’s no surprise that content is coming to DayZas we approach mid-June. Update 1.18 is now available and focuses on several points, including the addition of weapons. Headlining, we find the M79, a legendary grenade launcher, the very first in DayZ. The latter is capable of throwing grenades at a maximum distance of 300 meters. With this, several smoke grenades are introduced (black, white, red and green).

Still in the weapons department, let’s welcome the Derringer, a .357 with two barrels. It is a small weapon that will not take up space, but can be very useful. By the way, on the subject of small arms, Bohemia Interactive specifies that the Revolver and the Blaze rifle can now be sawed off. Finally, last point on this subject, it is now possible to use Claymores, directional mines whose detonation can be remotely controlled. Ideal for trapping enemies or securing a location.

On the world side, we can mention a new type of dynamic event with derelict trains, which are supposed to fill in some areas of the map that appear empty on Chernarus and Livonia. The developers promise that searching these trains will yield some nice loot. Naturally, more improvements are taking place with this update, whether on the level of optimization, bug fixing or quality of life. These points can be found in detail on the official site.

DayZ is, as a reminder, available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Other similar updates will arrive during the year, according to Bohemia Interactive’s plans.
