Todd Howard, the man in the brown leather jackets and designer and executive producer at Bethesda Studios, just made an important announcement as both the Xbox and Bethesda conferences are now over. He confirms that the development of Fallout 5 is already planned, but not for a while.
Fallout 5 is official by Bethesda
Bethesda is already busy on Starfield today, which is scheduled for release in 2023. And the next project is already in the cards, it’s called The Elder Scrolls VI. While it is not even in production yet, Todd Howard is already announcing the one that will follow it, Fallout 5.
The announcement was made during an interview with IGN
Yes, Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production. And, you know, we’re going to be doing Fallout 5 after that, so our list is pretty full for a while. We have other projects that we also review from time to time.
If The Elder Scrolls VI is still in pre-production, we can legitimately think that its release is not planned for five years, around 2028. The release of Fallout 5 should therefore be done in more than 10 years now! It’s pretty rare in the gaming world for games to be announced even before development has begun, but that doesn’t seem to bother Bethesda just yet.
While waiting for Fallout 5, The Elder Scrolls VI has already been talked about in recent months, especially with its custom Creation Engine 2 and the fact that it will be a 100% single-player game.
