Americans who love large-displacement engines are going to do things again. According to overseas media reports, Cadillac may launch a model equipped with a V16 engine, which will be used in its flagship full-size SUV Escalade. According to foreign media, Escalade product manager David Schiavone said he had mentioned the V16 version of the model with the company, but he did not disclose to the media whether the project was approved, or any other information. If the project is approved, the Escalade may use the same 13.6L V16 engine carried in the Cadillac Sixteen concept car, which can produce a maximum power of 746kW. There is also precedent for Cadillac’s use of V16 engines. In the 1930s, it launched a model equipped with a 16-cylinder engine. At present, the most powerful version of the Escalade car series is the Escalade V model, which is equipped with a 6.2L V8 engine. This 6.2L V8 engine is the same as the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, with a maximum power of 508kW and a peak torque of 885N· m, matched with a specially tuned 10-speed automatic transmission, with an acceleration of 0-96km/h.
