As the Canadian Grand Prix gets underway this weekend, the Frontier Developments teams wanted to clear up a number of points about their upcoming game: F1 Manager 2022. It is therefore on their Discord that they shared a lot of information providing some clarifications on the questions of the players.

An unlimited career mode, but with some constraints

The studio first of all wished to recall that F1 Manager 2022 was a purely single-player game, with no multiplayer component. As a reminder, we already knew that it would be impossible to create your own team, the choice being limited to the ten existing teams in the official championship. From a technical point of view, it will not be possible to play with the keyboard / mouse combo on PC, the developers having done everything to make the game suitable for the controller. As previously confirmed, it will be possible to speed up in-game time up to 16 times normal speed, or experience it in real time. One of the important choices during the season will be the choice of the engine to use if your team does not develop one, as well as the votes concerning the changes of regulations.

Regarding the heart of the gameplay, many clarifications have been made. Red flags will of course be part of the game, being a major part of the impact an accident can have on racing strategy. The number of seasons on the same save will be completely unlimited. However, it will not be possible to change teams in the event of dismissal. It will then be necessary either:

  • Revert to last save point
  • Go back five strokes
  • Restart the current season
  • Create a new backup

According to the Community Manager, it won’t even be impossible to switch teams manually. If the game specifications indicate the use of licenses Formula 2 and Formula 3, it will not be possible to follow these championships, only the evolution of the pilots. Those engaged in reserve in the main teams will also be part of the list from which you can choose the competitors of your stable. As the seasons progress, new pilots and employees will be generated, including women in each of the roles.

F1 Manager 22 will be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series, Playstation consoles and PC. It is available for pre-order on the Microsoft Store for €49.49.. The gameplay trailer can be seen below:
