The Xiaomi 12 Ultra should be formalized very soon and its technical sheet is emerging. The smartphone will be premium and intends to play spoilsport in the coming weeks.
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year. After a Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra particularly gifted in photography, the Chinese brand wants to progress further to take the place of Huawei and shake Apple, Samsung or Oppo. The 12 series already includes models with the Xiaomi 12 or 12 Pro, but Xiaomi still hasn’t launched its premium model: the 12 Ultra. Mentioned several times in our columns, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra is getting closer and should make its debut before the end of June in China. An expected presentation for a smartphone that will arrive a few weeks later in Europe, benefiting from the partnership with Leica.
What are the features of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra?
For several weeks, the noises of corridors have multiplied on the web. The latest announcement comes to us from leaker Yogesh Brar who takes stock of the main features of the next flagship from Xiaomi. Inevitably, these elements should be taken with a grain of salt since the device has not yet been formalized. Nevertheless, certain characteristics have been coming back with insistence for a few weeks and are no longer in doubt.

The first confirmation is that this model will be even more high-end than the rest of the 12 series. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra would have a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen displaying a definition QHD+with an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz. Like other premium smartphones before it, it would benefit from the LTPO 2.0 screen technology.
Under the hood, the 12 Ultra would house the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip from Qualcomm. Several configurations would be proposed, ranging from 8 to 12 GB of RAM LPDDR5 and 256 to 512 GB of storage internal in UFS 3.1. In addition to a more contained panel than that of the Mi 11 Ultra (6.7 against 6.81 inches), the future model would carry a smaller accumulator. The manufacturer would opt for a battery with a capacity of 4,800mAhcompatible with the wired fast charging up to 67W. The 12 Ultra would also have a fast wireless charging up to 50W (67W for the Mi 11 Ultra).
What changes for the photo?
The other curiosity of this smartphone lies in its photo configuration. It would finally be quite close, on paper, to that of its predecessor with the presence of a triple camera on the back. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra would present itself with a 50 megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS); a 48 megapixel ultra wide-angle and one 48-megapixel periscopic telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. Always on the back, we would find a ToF sensor and a laser autofocus. As on the Mi 11 Ultra, a 20 megapixel front camera would take place at the front of the smartphone.
At the beginning of June, we indicated that Xiaomi should make photo improvements. Its future flagship would offer a new main module and it would be the imposing 1-inch Sony IMX989. It would replace the ISOSELL GN2 to offer better results in photography. The 12 Ultra should also be the the firm’s first smartphone benefit from Leica know-how.
The whole would turn under MIUI 13 with Android 12, the latest version of Xiaomi’s overlay. Its price has not yet been leaked. However, we remember that the Mi 11 Ultra cost 1,199 euros when it was released in France.
