You like the studio DICEbut you don’t want to see it confined to the series Battlefield ? Well bad luck, that’s exactly what’s happening. While there was some doubt that the studio might ever return to smaller-scale titles like the series Mirror’s Edge, we now have confirmation that this will not happen for a while. The priority is Battlefieldand nothing else.

Battlefield hides everything

That’s what Rebecka Coutazgeneral manager, who indicates this in a new interview with GamesIndustry.bizin which it states that all side projects to Battlefield are completely discarded by the studio for the moment:

We’re just focused on Battlefield 2042. There’s no time for anything else and that’s what we want to do. In three years, we want to be the FPS representative that DICE deserves to be, and that’s what we’re looking for. I want the team to be really proud of Battlefield 2042. It’s what they’re after and they have their heart and passion in it. We want to be really, really proud of DICE. We want DICE to be number one for FPS in Europe, and one of the best in the world. It’s a fabulous team. »

No time for other projects therefore, knowing that the complicated launch of Battlefield 2042 (which has just been entitled to its Season 1) has certainly had to shake up a lot of things internally. So no return from Mirror’s Edge, nor new licenses from DICE, and this for quite a while.
