Currently available only in China, the first Intel GPU has been scrutinized and obviously the first tests are quite disappointing. Here is what we can tell you on the subject.
Bad news for Intel? The Arc Alchemist A380 which is available in China via manufacturers like GUNNIR is in the process of being tested and the first results do not seem to live up to expectations. One of the first tests comes from the content creator Shenmedounengce of the BiliBili platform.
What to expect from the Intel Arc A380?
The GPU used for the test is the GUNNIR Intel Arc A380 6 GB Photon. On the so-called synthetic tests, the card does well and manages to get closer or even exceed the competition such as the AMD Radeon RX 6400 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 cards. It is especially in the performance tests on video games that it is a bit behind and inevitably this is where it is expected.
Thus, on a range of DX11, DX12 and Vulkan games such as League of Legends, GTA 5, PUBG, Shadow of The Tomb Raider, Forza Horizon 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. The Intel Arc A380 is slower than the AMD Radeon RX 6400, but also less efficient than the GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card which is however quite old.
Where it hurts is that Intel had specifically targeted the AMD Radeon RX 6400 in its press release for the Arc A380, even stating that the new card would offer 25% more performance. And clearly that is not the case. Ouch.
