In the US, due to current supply chain issues, Apple will allow customers to take their devices home if repairs take longer than expected. After the required part is delivered, customers can return the device to complete the repair.
In the event that the customer takes the device home, he will be informed when the components necessary for repair are delivered. From now on, customers will have five days to return the device back to the service center before canceling the repair.
The new policy is available in some locations, and it is up to the service center to determine if a customer is allowed to take their device home while waiting for details. Logically, this only applies to customers whose devices are functional and in usable condition.
In the past few months, Apple has been facing supply chain issues that have affected iPhones and Macs. According to sources, publications MacRumors, MacBook Pro repair parts are currently shipping to select regions within two months.
