Promise kept on the side of Nintendo which has indeed presented new gameplay (but not only) of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, a game whose release is approaching at high speed, since it is scheduled for July 29th. In the meantime, we were treated to a big presentation of the game for 20 minutes, with a lot of revelations on the scenario side, in particular on the fact that our group of heroes only has 10 years to live. An ultimatum that gets worse when we learn that our soldiers only spend their time fighting, instead of enjoying life. It is also for this reason that the clans no longer really go to war and are somewhat obliged to help each other to survive.

Aionios, the world of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, is the scene of an endless war between the nations of Keves and Agnus, whose soldiers must risk their lives on the front lines every day. Six soldiers from these two enemy nations are given a special mission. Will these characters once driven by mutual hatred manage to break the cycle of violence in which their world is trapped?

In this spellbinding tale, players will journey alongside this group dedicated to defying fate and uncovering the truth about a world where every victory in battle and every setback is a new chance to change the course of history and triumph. of an uncertain fate.

Highlights of the presentation:

Explore a vast world: the world of Aionios is a natural beauty that contrasts with the terrible conflict of which it is the scene. The places discovered by the players during their exploration are saved as markers where it will then be possible to teleport to facilitate movement. It is also possible to venture freely or activate a navigation option that marks the path to follow to the next destination. During their adventures, players will discover all kinds of dreamlike landscapes and life forms, which, like their habitat, can be both docile and dangerous. Some of them, like Krenolur the demon, make no secret of their ferocious nature.

Learn the art of combat: During combat, the party can rely on the arts, powerful techniques, to help them achieve victory. Some arts allow you to unbalance the enemy, others inflict more damage depending on your positioning, and still others heal your allies. It is possible to combine several arts during devastating chain sequences. By gaining combat experience, party members can gain access to master arts or unlock the ability to merge arts to unleash ever more powerful attacks.

Rest in the colonies: during their exploration of Aionios, players will have the opportunity to climb cliffs, climb sandy slopes, slide along giant cables or even sail on the waves. Even if the stakes are high, it is still possible to explore the world at your own pace and thus discover new colonies where it will be possible to trade, eat or even get to know their inhabitants and be entrusted with new quests. The colonies, like the various resting places scattered around the world, also allow you to discover slices of the daily life of Noah and his friends. It is also possible to use the collected resources to cook or craft gems that improve abilities. It can also be nice to just take a breather before setting off in search of a stunning new vista to discover or a fierce new enemy to defeat.

Master character classes: The class assigned to each party member defines their behavior in battle. The swordsman class is a balanced offensive class, but there are many others specializing in, for example, healing, protection or devastating strikes. It is possible to switch freely from one character to another during combat, and the classes of the protagonists can also be modified so that they can, for example, take on the same class as one of their allies. Taking the time to learn and master different classes can be helpful in building a versatile party.

Recruit heroes: Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s storyline follows the story of a group of six protagonists, but some inhabitants of the world of Aionios called “heroes” can join the group as a seventh member to lend a hand . Only one hero can join the party at a time, but players can swap them around as they see fit. The heroes also have classes that are unique to them such as “guardian commander”, “intrepid force” or even “war doctor”. Party members will also be able to adopt the classes of heroes that ally with them. By recruiting new heroes, players will be able to create new combinations of classes and arts that will open up new strategic options.

Fusion into Ouroboros: Using a process called “interlink” during a fight, two members of the group can fuse to transform into powerful Ouroboros. Soul points earned in battle make the Ouroboros even more powerful. Ouroboros can also take part in combos with the rest of the group.

Expansion Pass Content: Expand the universe of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 with the paid Expansion Pass. From the launch of the game until the end of 2023, players will be able to access four waves of additional content** to expand their adventures in the world of Aionios. The expansion pass will include useful items, new outfits and outfit colors, challenges to complete, new quests, new heroes, and eventually a new scenario to discover. The Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass will be available for pre-order on Nintendo eShop today for €29.99.

Use any amiibo: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is compatible with all amiibo. Using any amiibo allows you to receive useful items for the adventure. Using Shulk’s amiibo changes the appearance of a swordsman character’s weapon (Noah’s starting class) to take on the appearance of Monado, the iconic blade from the first Xenoblade Chronicles game.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will be available in stores and on Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch on July 29. For people wishing to discover the world of Aionios as soon as the game is available, the title is already available for pre-order.
