Rufus was deployed in the new version 3.19 (3.19.1906). Currently in beta but with many improvements. Changes were made especially for Windows 11. Rufus can now bypass the required Microsoft account when reinstalling Windows 11 Home and Pro.
However, the Internet must be cut off during the new installation so that the local account can be installed. It can also be set up that way (see wiki), but if Rufus already offers it, why not.
Furthermore, the selection dialog for the Windows 11 setup has been adjusted. Secure Boot and TPM bypass have been moved to this dialog. (See also here in the wiki) But that’s not all.
- Added an option to skip all capture questions (sets all answers to disallow/deny)
- Added an option to take internal drives offline with Windows To Go. “Note: These customization options are only suggested when using a Windows 11 image.”
- Added support for distros using a non-default GRUB 2.0 prefix directory (openSUSE Live, GeckoLinux)
- Added the ability to ignore USBs. Please refer here
- Changed the drive listing so that it is always listed in ascending order of size
- Updated exceptions required by Red Hat and derivatives for the 9.x releases
- UEFI:NTFS drivers have been updated
- Reassigning a letter for drives written in DD mode and not having ESP (e.g. CoreELEC)
- Fixed Windows refusing to mount Linux MBR partitions on FIXED drives
