The source said employee badges at 167 Green Street in Chicago are now compatible with Apple Wallet. Instead of having a physical badge, employees only need their iPhone or Apple Watch to connect to their destination.
For those not in the know, 167 Green is an office building in Chicago that houses the famous Penthouse basketball court. From the looks of it, the entire building has been compatible with Apple Wallet for weeks now. Employee badges feature a basketball whose lines form a “167” shape.
Other organizations will follow and follow suit. The World Trade Center has already replaced office keys on the iPhone and Apple Watch. It was also reported that WeWork is working on making its access cards compatible with Apple Wallet. In addition, Apple Wallet can store more than just employee badges. It also includes keys for guests of certain hotels and drivers of certain vehicles.
