Honor has stopped deliveries of smartphones to Russia. This is reported by Vedomosti with reference to retail representatives.
According to the source, deliveries of Honor smartphones to Russia stopped in March. At the time, it looked like a suspension in order to assess the situation, but now it has become clear that the company does not intend to resume direct logistics.
The main sign that Honor no longer works with the Russian Federation is that the company began to look for ways to parallel export its goods through neighboring CIS countries: Armenia, Georgia, and so on. Moreover, it is reported that an agreement has already been reached with Uzbekistan – the “Chinese” will import smartphones into Russia through this country.
Representatives of Honor did not respond to a request from Vedomosti.
Obviously, the Russian market is important for Honor, but the company wants to protect itself from sanctions as much as possible. Mizail Burmistrov, CEO of Infoline Analytics, thinks so. It is worth noting that consumer electronics was excluded from the sanctions lists, that is, companies can import it to Russians without negative consequences, but it seems that Honor still decides to play it safe.
“Reducing risks when working with Russia and limiting supplies without any loud statements is now the policy of many Chinese companies,” Mikhail Burmistrov.
