Surely everyone had a desire to delete the browsing history from the browser so that someone would not accidentally see what sites you visited. The problem is that you need to go into the settings and look for where this can be done. Alternatively, you can use the “Incognito” mode, and then the browser will open in a new window and will not save history, cookies, and some other data. True, in this case, you will be logged out from all the sites that you logged into with your account, which is also not very convenient.

The History On / Off extension for Chrome offers a better solution to the problem – site settings and cookies are saved, the browser only disables saving browsing history. And it happens with just one click. The extension icon is located to the right of the address bar, poke it once – Chrome stops collecting history, poke a second one – it collects and stores history again.

No need to go into the Chrome history and delete information about visited sites, and there is no need to launch the browser window in Incognito mode, depriving yourself of various conveniences (installed extensions and logging into sites). History On/Off simply prevents Chrome from remembering the sites you visit while the extension’s button is enabled.

Of course, the History On/Off extension is free and does exactly what it’s supposed to do without burdening the browser with additional unnecessary features. It can be downloaded from chrome web store.
