And every day “Silent Hill” greets you. A supposed teaser trailer for a new game in the legendary survival horror franchise has appeared today, revealing an alleged reveal date.
The rumors surrounding a new part of the time-honoured “Silent Hill” series go to another round. Now a supposed teaser trailer has appeared in the vastness of the Internet, which is supposed to reveal the unveiling date of a new game.
Revealing a new Silent Hill game in a few days?
The 13-second video was shared by Twitter users @Mr_Rebs_, showing ash blowing away, revealing the rumored launch date: July 12, 2022. In a brief update, Rebs Gaming adds that the clip appears to have originally appeared on a Japanese forum. Shortly thereafter, however, the teaser disappeared again. Based on a leaker’s statement, a Konami shareholder is responsible for this.
@Mr_Rebs_ finally writes that he cannot verify the authenticity of the video. In addition, since Konami continues to remain quiet about the future of the “Silent Hill” brand, we have therefore marked the news as a rumor and you should still view this report with the necessary dose of skepticism.
Most recently, director Christophe Gans (“Silent Hill – Welcome to Hell”) caused a stir with statements in an interview. In it he said Konami is currently working on a relaunch the iconic survival horror series. Part of this project are both new video games and a new movie, which Gans is working on and for which he has already written a screenplay. According to the filmmaker, everything together is part of a global strategy for the IP.

However, the upcoming film is not a sequel to the franchise’s previous two screen offshoots, but a reboot. More precisely, Gans spoke of a modernization of the series, which is why the upcoming strip should be aimed at a modern audience. He did not give details about the story of the film.
