IT House news on July 5th, according to the Nikkei Chinese website,Xiaomi has started production of smartphones in Vietnam, produced by DBG Technology (Guanghong Technology) OEM factory. The factory covers an area of about 200,000 square meters.Investment of about $80 million(approximately RMB 537 million).
Reports say that, with the exception of Vietnam,Xiaomi will also export to Southeast Asia such as Malaysia and Thailand. The products produced are not only smartphones, but also components such as data transmission equipment and circuit boards.
IT House learned that Counterpoint Research data shows that in the first quarter of 2022, smartphone shipments in Vietnam fell by 3% year-on-year. Among them, thanks to the Redmi 9 series and the Redmi Note 11 series,Xiaomi is second with a 20.6% share.
