fans of Forspoken have to wait even longer for the release of the new role-playing game. Square Enix has announced that it has once again postponed the date. So the title of Luminous Productions is now only on January 24, 2023 come on the market. Previously, the release was for the October 11, 2022 planned. However, this was also a new appointment. Originally, Forspoken was supposed to be released on May 25, 2022.
Why was Forspoken postponed again?
In a short statements Square Enix and Luminous Productions revealed the reason for the new release of Forspoken: “After ongoing discussions with key partners, we have the strategic decision met to postpone the launch of Forspoken to January 24, 2023. All elements of the game are now complete and development is entering the final ‘polishing’ phase. […] We can’t wait to share more about Forspoken with you over the summer.”
However, the developers have not revealed which strategic decision is meant in detail. You might not want to release the new role-playing game in a period for which numerous games have already been announced. In October 2022 alone, titles like Overwatch 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Marvel’s Midnight Suns or Gotham Knights are already coming. Early November will follow directly God of War Ragnarok and Pokémon Crimson & Crimson.

It is unclear whether the title will be in late 2022 or early 2023. The release of will follow in the summer of 2023 Final Fantasy 16. In addition, has Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth also already received a period – the remake sequel should come in winter 2023.
