Surprise: Ubisoft announced the next part of the successful series The Division tonight. We’ll tell you what The Division Resurgence is all about!
At the end of today’s Wednesday, Ubisoft surprises us with a new announcement: Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence continues the successful action series – albeit in a slightly different way. The new spin-off is a third-person RPG that can be played on iOS and Android mobile platforms. The release is planned free of charge in free-to-play format in the App Store and Google Play. Registrations for a closed alpha test phase have already been made possible via the official website.
Resurgence aims to bring the proven gaming experience from The Division to mobile devices. You are given a new and independent story in an open game world, where you can move through a detailed city environment again. You can play alone or in co-op. There will be a variety of PvE activities, from story missions to world activities. Ubisoft builds on the original game modes and brings new equipment and weapons with it.
Set in an apocalyptic New York City, Resurgence will offer you a new perspective on the events of The Division and The Division 2 main games. As chaos rages on in New York City, as an agent of the first wave of the Strategic Homeland Division, you are tasked with protecting civilians from enemy factions and helping them build a better future. Along the way, you’ll encounter new characters with their own backstories and powerful enemies with challenging abilities.
Otherwise you can look forward to adaptable characters, leveling up and improving skills. The protagonists can also be specialized, unlocking unique weapons and gadgets that are interchangeable.
Overall, Ubisoft wants to appeal to both newcomers and veterans of the franchise with the title. The control and the user interface were specially developed for mobile devices. There is no concrete release date yet, but there is a first trailer, which you can watch below.
