On the menu: a meteor that definitely attracts all eyes.

Prime Video has just unveiled a short preview of the trailer for its series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. A fairly skimpy “trailer trailer” that doesn’t overflow with information and instead just gives us a few peeks at Amazon-style Middle-earth.

The “main character” of this excerpt is undoubtedly the meteor that we briefly saw in the teaser presented last February. We know that this fireball will contain an important character. But these 60 seconds do not include the slightest clue to his identity.

Who is hiding in this meteor?

On Reddit and social networks, speculation is rife. Is it Sauron? Gandalf? Glorfindel? We will still have to wait to find out. In any case, the characters of the series are as circumspect as the community.

From Galadriel to Sadoc Burrows to Prince Durin IV, no one seems to have a clue what it all means. In any case, it will be interesting to discover the narrative sleight of hand that the Amazon teams will use to justify the presence of this phenomenon which, let’s remember, is not mentioned anywhere in Tolkien’s original work.

To hope to obtain more answers, it will be necessary to wait until next July 14. It is on this date that Amazon must reveal the entire trailer from which this extract was taken. But there is little chance that the production will decide to reveal key elements of the plot before the official release of the series.

We therefore give you an appointment this fall to discover this series, with a mixture of interest and apprehension. Will the American giant be able to convince the immensely devoted fanbase of the brilliant author? His interpretation will probably struggle to achieve unanimity, as already illustrated by the first controversies that took shape around the liberties taken by the production. https://hitek.fr/actualite/seigneur-des-anneaux-polemique-petition_29275

All that remains is to knock on wood in the hope of rediscovering the original spirit of this mythical work. See you on July 14, then September 2 to discover the fall of Numenor with Amazon sauce.
