Many believe that Game Freak and Nintendo will show off a little more about Scarlet and Violet soon, perhaps at the end of the month.
In the meantime, fans are busy with rumours, speculations, fan art etc. Some of the leaks that appear online, if from a reliable source like Riddler Khu, seem pretty legit, while many others are rather dubious.
For example, while Riddler Khu hinted at Fuecoco’s final evolution form, the “leak” of Sprigatito’s final evolution was confirmed to be false. This was ultimately a modded Obstagoon, and the source is always the first thing to check. If it’s from Khu or a known insider, there’s a good chance it’s legitimate; if it spreads on social media without a real source, it should be taken with a huge grain of salt, like the evolution of Pawmi currently circulating online.
Pohm is one of three new non-starter/legendary Pokemon revealed for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet so far, and he’s a small red and yellow electric mouse. Many have identified him as the next Pikachu clone, but images of his supposed evolution have spread online. It looks from this image that Pawmi will become bipedal, grow a little bigger, and her hair on top will spread out. It is uncertain whether this image represents Pohm’s last form or some intermediate form, and it should be noted that there is a good chance that it is fake.
First of all, Pikachu clones usually don’t have evolutions. Second, while many players praised the fact that it stuck to the art style of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, many noted that it doesn’t look like an evolution of Pokemon. The best thing to do with new Pokemon like Pohm’s supposed evolution is to assume that anything as straightforward as that is wrong. It’s not that Pokemon leaks are impossible, it’s that Big N is going to stop them quickly. Chances are, if this Pohm evolution for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were real, the footage would already be taken down from the internet.
