IT House July 20 news, Microsoft today provided a new Windows 11 update in the Beta channel (.436) and announced that it will launch Bug Bash for the Beta channel.

This week Microsoft is hosting a special Bug Bash for the Beta Channel! If you’re on Build 22622.436, you can check out the Feedback Hub later this week for various tasks for you to try out and provide feedback. Bug Bash will be held July 20-25.

As with the last update, Win11 .436 is divided into two versions – Build 22621.436 and 22622.436, with new features enabled by default in higher version numbers, while the other version does not have updates enabled by default as a control group.

Simply put, the new features in Windows 11 build 22622.436 are mainly related to the sharing aspect.

First, Nearby Sharing now supports sharing to objects such as PCs connected via UDP. This means that as long as that network is set to private, you can use Nearby Sharing to send files to PCs on the same network, instead of just using Bluetooth as before.

You can now discover and share to more nearby shares via the built-in Windows Sharing window.

In addition, there is a more significant change in the new version, you can now use OneDrive as a sharing target in the Windows 11 sharing panel. When you try to share a local file, you can send it from the sharing panel to OneDrive, which makes it a little easier. Of course, it can also be backed up to the cloud at the same time.

You can choose OneDrive as the destination to upload files directly to OneDrive through the built-in Windows sharing window.

Also, a smaller change Microsoft has been working on, and has been for a while, is that Windows Terminal is now the default Terminal app for Windows 11. So when you try to open Command Prompt or PowerShell, those tools will open directly in Windows Terminal.

IT Home understands that if you prefer to open these applications with the previous independent window, you can disable related functions from “Settings”.

  • Fixed an issue where tabs were in the wrong order when using CTRL+Tab when rearranging tabs in File Explorer.

  • Fixed explorer.exe crash when dragging tabs.

  • If “Show All Folders” is enabled, the divider in the File Explorer Navigation Pane will no longer be displayed. With this change, it should also fix an issue where dividers were unexpectedly showing up in some other folder pickers.

  • Opening a compressed folder in a new tab should no longer have a blank tab name.

  • Removable drives should no longer unexpectedly appear alone in a section in the Navigation Pane, which would separate the section from This PC and Network.

  • Fixed an issue where the Add New Tab button was not clearly visible when using Aquatic or Desert to compare themes.

  • A faint line should no longer appear between the current tab and the command bar.

  • Updated tooltip when hovering over a tab to suggest using CTRL+W to close the tab (instead of CTRL+F4, which doesn’t work).

  • If focus is on a row of tabs, CTRL+W will no longer accidentally close both tabs, not just the one with focus.

  • Fixed an issue where the row of tabs could unexpectedly expand vertically, covering the contents of the command bar.

Common fixes for builds 22621.436 and 22622.436

  • Fixed an issue preventing the troubleshooter from opening.

  • Fixed an issue that caused Smart App Control to block catalog signature files.

  • Fixed an issue that could severely distort photos you take with the Camera app. This issue occurs when using some cameras in some low light conditions.

  • Fixed an exception thrown when debugging a driver with Visual Studio 2022 version 17.2 or later.

  • Fixed an issue that caused the Windows Profile Service to occasionally fail. Failures may occur when logging in. The error message is “Login failed for gpsvc service. Access is denied”.

  • Fixed an issue that prevented virtualized App-V Office applications from opening or caused them to stop responding.

Note that this fix should prevent more Insiders from being affected by the new one, but if you are already affected, you will need to run the following commands in PowerShell to resolve it:
