The Star Wars Hunters arena game has already been the subject of a soft launch in some countries in Asia, South America and Oceania. However, the game obviously still needs to be refined and its worldwide release has been postponed to 2023.
In February last year, Zynga and Lucasfilm Games announced the development of star wars hunters : an arena game based on the Star Wars license (as part of Lucasfilm’s policy to exploit the license in more varied projects) and intended for both the Switch and mobile platforms.
We remember that initially, the game was to be launched at the end of 2021 and indeed, Star Wars Hunters was the subject of a pre-launch in India, the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia last November, before being also distributed in Brazil and Mexico on iOS in February, then in Australia, New Zealand and Taiwan last May. What to consider an upcoming global launch? Obviously not, the developer announces a postponement of the worldwide release to next year.
On Twitter, Zynga says it has the ambition to make Star Wars Hunters “an arena game that will entertain players for years to come” and in order to achieve the goal, the studio says it needs more time. Hence the postponement to 2023 of the worldwide release of the game. In regions where the title is already available, Zynga ensures that Star Wars Hunters will continue to be updated regularly (the next patch is expected in the coming weeks) until ‘at the worldwide release.
