It is now possible to pre-order the Google Pixel 6a. Unveiled in May during the opening conference of Google I/O 2022, the smartphone arrives in France at the price of 459 euros. No ignition delay for the American giant, which was counting on an opening of pre-orders this Thursday, July 21, 2022; for effective availability a week later, on July 28, 2022. On its site, Google offers delivery between July 29 and August 1.

Google Pixel 6a: the lethal weapon of the mid-range?
All the technical details have been known since the announcement at I/O 2022. The Pixel 6a adopts a panel 6.1 inch OLED with a Full HD + definition and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Too bad that Google does not opt for 90 Hz or 120 Hz as with some of its competitors. The Pixel 6a’s main selling point seems to be under the hood, with the presence of the famous Google Tensor ; either the same SoC as in the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. The manufacturer adds 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
The photo part is generally the strong point of Google smartphones. The Pixel 6a is not one-upmanship and has a 12.2-megapixel Sony IMX 363 main sensor ; coupled to a 12-megapixel ultra wide-angle (IMX 386). The duo can count on the artificial intelligence that made the reputation of the Mountain View company (Realtone, Night Sight for night photos, Magic Eraser, and many others). At the front, there is an 8 megapixel sensor.
On the battery side, Google offers an accumulator with a capacity of 4,306 mAh. The Pixel 6a promises a autonomy ranging from “more than 24 hours” to “72 hours” with ultra battery saver mode”. Added to this is wired charging up to 18W with a Google 30W USB-C or Google 18W USB-C charger (not included). On the software side, the Pixel 6a will also be one of the first smartphones to receive Android 13. It will benefit from 5 years of security updates, and 3 years of major updates.
