Born in the former Portuguese capital of Coimbra, Tiago “Tee” Lopes (pronounced “Law-psh” and not “Lo-pez”) discovered musical instruments and video games at an early age thanks to his family. In the 1980s and 1990s, SEGA having the wind in its sails on the Iberian Peninsula, the young boy devoured the flagships of the brand: Alex Kidd, the various episodes of Streets of Rage and Sonic, etc. Then, when he was fifteen, the Lopes moved to the New York area; a real cultural shock which opened him up to all sorts of musical horizons and was to guide his future career.
