According to Digitimes, sources pointed out that the price of NOR Flash, which has been rising since the second half of 2020, stopped rising in the second quarter of 2022, and began to show a downward trend in the third quarter. In the first half of the year, the price was relatively stable. The price of 512Mb, 1Gb, 2Gb high-density NOR Flash will also drop.
A previous report released by market research agency IC Insights showed that NOR Flash will only account for 4% of the entire flash memory market in 2021, but sales of NOR Flash products soared by 63% to $2.9 billion, and NOR Flash shipments increased by 33%. Prices rose 23%.
According to TrendForce, due to the rapid deterioration of the imbalance between supply and demand, the price decline of NAND Flash will expand to 8%-13% in the third quarter, and the decline is likely to continue into the fourth quarter.
