At the 2022 World Power Battery Conference, Dong Yang, chairman of the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance, predicted that the scale of my country’s new energy vehicle industry will continue to grow in 2022, and the total output scale is forecast to reach 5.627 million units, a year-on-year increase of about 71.7% ; about 5.357 million new energy passenger vehicles (4.2944 million pure electric passenger vehicles, 1.0626 million plug-in hybrid passenger vehicles), a year-on-year increase of about 75.3%; commercial vehicle output was 269,800, a year-on-year increase of about 215.5% %.
It is worth mentioning that Tian Yulong, chief engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said at the press conference of the State Council Information Office on July 19 that since the beginning of this year, my country’s new energy vehicle industry has overcome many difficulties such as the spread of the epidemic, and achieved stable and rapid development. In the first half of the year, the production and sales of new energy vehicles were 2.661 million units and 2.6 million units, an increase of 1.2 times year-on-year, with a market penetration rate of 21.6%.
IT House has reported that data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology shows that in 2021, my country’s new energy vehicle sales will be 3.521 million units, a year-on-year increase of 1.6 times, ranking first in the world for seven consecutive years; the market share of new passenger vehicles equipped with combined driving assistance systems up to 20%.
In addition, in 2021, the cumulative sales of Chinese brand passenger vehicles will be 9.543 million units, a year-on-year increase of 23.1%, and the market share will reach 44.4%, a year-on-year increase of 6 percentage points.
Statistics from the Ministry of Public Security show that by the end of 2021, the number of new energy vehicles in the country will reach 7.84 million, accounting for 2.60% of the total number of vehicles. After deducting scrap, the number of cancellations will increase by 2.92 million or 59.25% over 2020. Among them, there are 6.4 million pure electric vehicles, accounting for 81.63% of the total number of new energy vehicles. In 2021, 2.95 million new energy vehicles will be newly registered nationwide, accounting for 11.25% of the total number of newly registered vehicles, an increase of 1.78 million or 151.61% compared with the previous year. In the past five years, the number of newly registered new energy vehicles has grown rapidly from 650,000 in 2017 to 2.95 million in 2021.
