The information had leaked at the end of last week, Blizzard formalizes the thing today : the Classic version of World of Warcraft will welcome the extension Wrath of the Linch King on September 27, 2022when the fellowship can return to Northrend to prepare for battle against the Lich King.

The Lich King is waiting for you at the start of the school year

We weren’t sure if the expansion was going to arrive this year or not, although the latest betas gave us a clue. It’s now official, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic will be available on the night of September 26 to 27, at midnight precisely for our French regions.

A short cinematic has been put online, just to accompany the announcement of the date and play on the nostalgia of former players. To motivate the community to prepare for the expansion, a +50% experience bonus is launched today, in order to prepare your character (or characters) by the launch date.

Remember that this Classic version will allow you to relaunch in the extension as at the time, with the content which will be deployed gradually. We will thus be able to (re)discover the lands of Northrend, wander through the Borean Tundra, embody a Death Knight, learn Calligraphy, unlock Achievements and enjoy some conveniences of the current era, such as buying a sesame and adding improvements to hair salons. The arena coast will become personal again, and the dungeon tool will not be accessible, as in the beginning.
