Apple has released the second public betas of iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS Ventura. The public beta is the same as the developer beta released the day before.
iOS 16 includes a new customizable lock screen for iPhone, new focus mode features, scheduling emails in the Mail app, an editing feature in Messages, new iCloud Photo Library features, and more.
iPadOS 16 includes features from iOS 16 with the exception of lock screen customization, and iPad M1 users will get a new Stage Manager multitasking experience.
macOS Ventura for Mac includes the ability to use your iPhone as a webcam, a new Stage Manager multitasking interface, the ability to schedule emails in the Mail app, edit iMessages, enable the Weather and Clock apps, and more.
iOS/ipadOS users who actively participate in the iPhone and iPad beta programs can find the iOS 16 2 public beta and iPadOS 16 2 public beta in the Settings > General > Software Update app.
macOS users participating in the public beta program can find the latest macOS Ventura public beta 2 available in Apple menu > System Preferences > Software Update.
If you’re an adventurous user who’s interested in running beta system software and doesn’t mind bugs, you can install the iOS 16 public beta on iPhone, iPadOS 16 public beta on iPad, or macOS Ventura public beta on Mac. This is only recommended on additional devices as the beta version for each operating system is unstable compared to the final build.
The final versions of iOS 16, iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura will be released this fall.
