OnePlus has just formalized the 10T, the successor to the OnePlus 9. We spent two weeks and here is our test of the OnePlus 10T.
Last year, OnePlus had released the OnePlus 9 but it was not entitled to its evolution in 9T. This year, we were entitled to the OnePlus 10 Pro at the start of the year but from OnePlus 10. As a result, the Chinese manufacturer is taking advantage of the middle of summer to formalize the OnePlus 10T, successor to the 10 which therefore never existed. technically, it’s the successor to the OnePlus 9.
Like its predecessor, the OnePlus 10T focuses more on performance and user experience than on photography. Exit therefore the partnership with Hasselblad and above all, there is a more reasonable photo block. We’ve been testing it for two weeks already, here’s our verdict on the OnePlus 10T.

On the packaging side, nothing very surprising since we find a huge red box with the smartphone of course, a USB-C cable, classic but proprietary since one of the strengths of this OnePlus 10T is this 160W charger delivered with the smartphones.
Technically, the OnePlus 10T only supports 150W but who can do more can do less. In any case, it’s super impressive in that the smartphone can be recharged from 0 to 100% in less than 20 minutes. 19 minutes more precisely in our tests. Suddenly, such fast charging is done to the detriment of wireless charging which does not equip the OnePlus 10T.
In terms of price, the latter is in line with the range with a price that starts from 729 euros.
Design, screen and audio
When we discover the OnePlus 10T, we immediately recognize the design of the OnePlus 10 Pro with almost the same size and above all a recognizable photo block at first glance. Moreover, without knowing the characteristics of the smartphone, it is impossible with the naked eye to see the differences between the photo block of the OnePlus 10T and that of the 10 Pro. With a similar size, we will notice that the OnePlus 10T offers an integration of the photo block in the back like Oppo’s premium smartphones. The effect is striking and it’s more subtle than on the OnePlus 10 Pro where the photo block was visually detached from the back and was only an extension of the outline, whereas on the 10T it is an extension of the back.
While the OnePlus 10 Pro offered a frosted glass back, the OnePlus 10T (in our test version) offers a back with a glossy finish glass. Yes, who says shiny also says fingerprints but it is rather well contained in reality, especially on the color that we had in test. We would have preferred frosted glass all the same, even we do not sulk our pleasure with a successful color. Small surprise on the OnePlus 10T since we no longer find the physical switch to switch to vibrate and / or silence mode while we find the power button and / or standby on the right edge and the volume buttons on the left edge.
In terms of size and weight, the OnePlus 10T is about on par with the 10 Pro. It’s full length to maximize both display area and one-handed grip. There is a fingerprint sensor under the optical type screen. If during our tests, we did not note any particular concerns, it has changed place compared to the OnePlus 10 Pro and we find it slightly too low. The screen still offers a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz (it is not variable) and Full HD + definition. If we find the same diagonal, the OnePlus 10 Pro offers a Quad HD + definition. Now, on a daily basis, we didn’t feel any discomfort or anything.
The screen is flat for our greatest happiness and above all, the edges of the screen remain thin, they are not the thinnest on the market but they are in the right average. It should also be noted that the punch is no longer at the top left as on OnePlus 10 Pro, but in the middle as on Samsung smartphones. The blacks are deep and the colors always contrasting. The OnePlus 10 Pro panel is excellent in itself, both in terms of colorimetry and viewing angles.
Finally, OnePlus offers stereo speakers. Obviously, we are talking about smartphone speakers and the uses that result from them. Clearly, we will not be able to supply a cinema either. Still, we found them pleasant for the consumption of short and more or less long content. The sound was clear and powerful, without noticeable saturation.
Oxygen OS 12.1, Performance and Autonomy
Side androidno surprise in itself, we obviously find the overlay Oxygen OS 12.1. With this version 12.1, OnePlus continues to offer one of the best overlays on the market. The experience stays close toAndroid Stock. Practical and valuable.
On the performance side, without surprises, it is a high-end smartphone. So it’s the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 found in the bowels of the OnePlus 10T. No need to beat around the bush, it’s a premium SoC and as for a few years, the power of these SoCs exceeds our needs so apart from benchmarks, this will not necessarily change our daily lives. Obviously, we tried all the recent games like Diablo Immortal, Wild Rifts, Dead Cells, Call of or Rocket League Side Swipe. In short, there is not much to say except that during our tests it was just super fluid, even at 120Hz. We will just note a disappointing result on the Benchmark Antutu when we expected a score above 1 million.
OnePlus has worked on its cooling system and in our tests, we did not feel any excessive heating. Next, OnePlus offers a new technology, the HyperBoost Gaming Engine, which is in fact a set of technologies that helps to keep a constant framerate in games while trying to consume as little as possible and optimize touch interactions on the screen. ‘screen. Well, on our side, everything worked well in absolute terms and to date, we haven’t really had any applications that bring the smartphone to its knees.
the OnePlus 10T offers a battery of 4800mAh, which is normal for this type of smartphone with a 6.7-inch screen and a refresh rate of 120Hz. If the OnePlus 10T does not offer wireless charging, the smartphone supports 150W wired charging, which allows the smartphone to be charged from 0 to 100% in just 19 minutes. It is simply impressive. Note that the OnePlus 10T comes with a 160W charger because who can do more can necessarily do less.
Photo and Video
The OnePlus 10 Pro is a Premium smartphone and the Chinese manufacturer had no choice but to offer a complete photo block and in partnership with Hasselblad. On the OnePlus 10T, we move to a high-end smartphone and above all more focused on performance and user experience. Also, the photo block is not as versatile but we find the essentials with a main camera with all the same the famous Sony IMX766 sensor which still equips a large majority of high-end and premium smartphones this year. Next to it, there is an ultra wide-angle with an 8 megapixel sensor but also an extremely wide focal length. The whole is completed by a sensor dedicated to the macro, classic in itself.
For the photos themselves, when the light conditions are ideal, the OnePlus 10T does not have to be ashamed in the face of competitors and does well. The photos are contrasting even if it lacks sharpness at times. In fact, we notice in use that it lacks optical stabilization because we sometimes end up with blurry photos when we know that we would have had no problem with other smartphones. As usual, it’s on the ultra wide-angle that the shoe pinches since it is sorely lacking in sharpness, especially on the edges. Fortunately, this is not the camera that we will use most often.
When the light conditions are a little more difficult, needless to say, we will focus on the main camera. And for once, it is clear that OnePlus is doing quite well. The colors are sometimes artificial but overall, the noise management is well mastered and OnePlus allows itself not to smooth out too much. We will also note a certain consistency between the cameras of the OnePlus 10T.
On the video side, we note the possibility of recording videos up to 4K but at 60fps, which is sufficient in itself. We remind you that some smartphones do not even offer 4K. In any case, if the videos are correct, the OnePlus 10T is not the smartphone that we will recommend to the most videographers among you.
