The militant organization Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) has announced a ceasefire with Israel, after it had fired rockets at the country in retaliation for attacks killing some of its high-ranking members in the Gaza Strip. The ceasefire is to come into force at 23:30 pm (2030 GMT), the PIJ said in the Gaza Strip on Sunday evening, adding that it was welcoming Egyptian efforts to mediate in the conflict.
