Later today, the fighting title “The King of Fighters XV” will receive a new DLC with “Team Awakened Orochi”. Additionally, SNK announced that cross-play support is currently in the works.
At the end of last month, the developers of SNK presented “Team Awakened Orochi”, the next DLC for their in-house fighting title “The King of Fighters XV”, which will again bring new characters with it.
As SNK announced in a recent announcement, the “Team Awakened Orochi” DLC will be released today, Monday, August 8, 2022 for all platforms on which the fighting title is available. The new DLC brings the eponymous team Awakened Orochi and consists of the three characters Orochi Yashiro, Orochi Shermie and Orochi Chris.
In The King of Fighters ’97, the team worked to revive Orochi and claim his power.
Developers are working on cross-play support
Coinciding with today’s release of the Team Awakened Orochi DLC, SNK announced that the developers are currently working on cross-play support for The King of Fighters XV. However, the publisher did not name a specific date here and only pointed out that cross-play support will be introduced in “The King of Fighters XV” over the course of the coming year. SNK intends to provide further details on this topic in due course.
Cross-play support allows you to compete against players who are on a different platform than you. Cross-gen support is already included on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, allowing duels between PS4 and PS5 users.
