According to Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, the Grand Theft Auto VI development team is determined to push the limits.
At the recent Take-Two quarterly business conference, there was some interesting information regarding the various offshoots of the GTA brand.
The company announced that it had sold another five million units of Grand Theft Auto V in the last three months. Thus, the total number of sales increases to 170 million units. A total of 380 million games from the Grand Theft Auto series were sold worldwide.
According to CEO Strauss Zelnick, the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 versions of GTA V have grown over 40% in the last quarter. The rate of microtransactions is 36% higher than among players on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. In the wake of the global corona pandemic, GTA Online player numbers have increased by 49% since 2020.
Zelnick also had some information ready for the next part of the gangster series. With work on Grand Theft Auto VI in full swing, the Rockstar Games team is “determined to set creative standards for the series, industry and entertainment.”
