Thanks to a new mod by “mnxn” Dying Light 2 can now use FSR 2.0 from AMD instead of DLSS. The temporal upscaler doesn’t quite reach the level of DLSS yet, but it represents a significant advancement to FSR 1.0. So read more about FSR 2.0 in Dying Light 2 below and how you can also use it.

The current upscaling technologies are crucial new features that can be crucial for many graphics card buyers. They often make it possible to enjoy a current game smoothly with ray tracing or in 4K and are also continuously improved. Nvidia offers its own DLSS, while AMD initially countered this with FSR 1.0, a spatial upscaler, and now with FSR 2.0, a temporal upscaler. The implementation of FSR 2.0 is open to all game developers, but since the technology is still quite new, not too many games have implemented FSR 2.0 yet.

Nvidia Studio meets Dying Light 2 – the winner

Since the source code can be viewed, modders can also use the technology, as is already the case with the mod FidelityFx Super Resolution 2.0″ for Cyberpunk 2077. Now the modder “mnxn” has made the survival game Dying Light 2 made by Techland and integrated into the game on the same basis FSR 2.0. Installing the mod replaces the option for DLSS in the game menu.

The DLSS quality mode then hides FSR 2.0 quality with an upscaling factor of 1.5, with balance and performance the same procedure is followed with scaling factors of 1.7 and 2.0 respectively. The mod can here It’s free to download and can only be used in the game’s DX-12 mode. For installation, it is simply unpacked and a new DLL file must be added to the installation folder. Nevertheless – as always with modifications – caution is advised. Problems and errors are always possible with such modifications and if you want to be sure, you should wait for an official patch.
