We’ve had a teaser, a clip, and an intro sequence, but now it’s finally time for the actual trailer for the Netflix series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. It takes place in the same Night City as CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077but has a completely independent plot.
The trailer introduces us to a diverse cast of characters: David (the main character) as well as the gang of edgerunners he seems to join, consisting of Maine, Dorio, Kiwi, Pilar, Rebecca and Lucy. It is not only Mike Pondsmith’s Cyberpunk role-playing game that acted as a source of inspiration for the series, but also CD Projekt Red’s games, and we see, among other things, that parts of the user interface are also used in the series.
Overall, the series looks to intersperse action with dystopia and humor, all to the tune of swinging music from Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka. The premiere will take place on Netflix in September.
