Master Yi is a popular champion, especially at low skill levels. This is primarily due to his skills. One of them now wants to strengthen Riot further. This primarily benefits players in higher Elos.

In bronze, for example, the “Wuju Swordsman” already has a win rate of around 50 percent. The situation is different in the higher Elo range. The higher we move up, the more the champion falls:

  • Platinum: 46.6%
  • Diamond: 43.6%
  • Masters: 39.6%
  • That’s why beginners fear Master Yi

As a jungler, Yi’s job is to secure the jungle between lanes. There he fights against monsters, collects experience and gold. However, a jungler must always keep an eye on the different lanes – i.e. top, mid and bot. If there is an opportunity, he helps out.

Because of his speed, which is only enhanced by his Ultimate Ability (Ult), and other skills, Master Yi is especially feared at low Elos. His Q (Alpha Strike) allows him to dodge enemy attacks while dealing damage to multiple enemy champions at once.

What does the new LoL update do

In patch 12.13 (July 13, 2022), developer Riot Games does not address this, but another important point: the W (Meditate). Their cooldown is said to drop from 28 to just five seconds with the new update EarlyGame. This is of great benefit. After all, the ability allows Master Yi to go into a healing meditation, in which he sometimes takes less damage.

In addition, Riot wants to reduce the ability’s mana cost from 50 to 40 (+6% max mana per second) and grant Yi around 60 percent tenacity for the first five seconds of the meditation. Regardless of the meditation, even the jungler’s attack range should increase from 125 to 175.
