At the beginning of the year, Samsung announced the upcoming arrival of an all-in-one platform for discovering games and in particular for playing titles on the cloud. Based on its Tizen operating system, the Samsung Gaming Hub is now deployed on the Korean brand’s Smart TVs and Smart Monitors.
As part of a software update 1302.5 (or higher), the models affected are all 2022 Smart TVs (Neo QLED 8KNeo QLED 4K, QLED and Lifestyle) and the 2022 Smart Monitor range.
With the Samsung Gaming Hub, Samsung’s partners include Google Stadia, Nvidia GeForce Now, Utomik, as well as Microsoft via the Xbox application which is available on the platform and for the Xbox Game Pass with games from the cloud (Ultimate subscribers ).
The dematerialization of TV boxes and consoles
Other partnerships are to come and in particular for Amazon Luna – which is however not yet available in France – and so far offered on FireTV from Amazon. The controller can connect via Bluetooth.
The Samsung Gaming Hub allows direct subscription to services or login with credentials. It also accommodates Twitch, Spotify and YouTube, and integrates game consoles connected via HDMI.
” The arrival of the Samsung Gaming Hub on Samsung 2022 Smart TVs is part of the brand’s strategy to simplify the daily life of consumers, while supporting the dematerialization of services, like the dematerialization of Bouygues TV Boxes, Free and Orange “, writes Samsung France.
