By David Wetzel New York (Knewz) — Monkeypox is most prevalent in the United States, and the country is among more than 70 that have historically not had the illness reporting cases. As of Aug. 1, the U.S. had 5,810 cases, the most in the world with Spain having the second-most at 4,298, according to Centers for Disease Control Statistics. Overall, as of Aug. 1 there were 23,620 cases in the world, including 23,276 cases in countries that have not historically had reports of monkeypox.
