Spanish championships are still being held even after the Fifa break-up.

It has probably not escaped anyone’s notice that Fifa and EA have broken up after many years of collaboration. Of course, this does not mean that EA intends to stop with its football games, but they continue under the name EA Sports FC. But of course, the new series can’t just live on EA’s good reputation … but also needs the real teams, players and championships that fans want to play with.

In line with that, EA has now secured a really important license agreement. It is the Spanish LaLiga that has entered into a partnership with the gaming giant. For this, EA must pay almost 30 million euros a year – around 300 million kroner – according to marca.com.

In a statement on its website, LaLiga writes that it has been a strategic partner of EA for years and that this new, expanded agreement represents a commitment to provide the next level of innovation to all football fans.

However, EA’s Fifa journey is not over yet, because they are releasing their last game in the series, FIFA 23, on September 30. More information about the collaboration is to be shared in the coming months, while info about EA Sports FC will have to wait until summer 2023.
