The Forgotten Saga sends us to Nifelheim.
Even though it’s almost two years old (read FZ’s review), the content continues Assassin’s Creed Valhalla to flow. And it’s no wonder, given that it brought in over a billion dollars for Ubisoft. The latest content they don’t make any direct money from though, as it’s free (and out now).
It’s a brand new game mode called The Forgotten Saga, and you can see the trailer for it above. It revolves around a roguelite concept, which means that you have to try to get as far as possible and have to start from the beginning when you die. Fortunately, you can upgrade your character between rounds, with a whole new skill tree.
You play as Odin, determined to bring home his son Balder from the underworld Nifelheim. The journey to Hel’s castle goes through different zones, each with its own champion that must be defeated. In addition to equipment and other helpful things, you can also find NPCs who offer side quests.
The new game mode is accessed by building the Everold’s Hut in Ravensthorpe, but this must be done after visiting Asgard for the first time in the game.
