Andrew Wilson open to change.
Everything and everyone is for sale. At least that’s the conclusion you can draw in recent years when Microsoft bought Bethesda and is about to acquire Activision Blizzard. Square Enix, for its part, has sold Eidos Montreal and several in one, it is claimed, “flash sale”. There have also been whispers about Electronic Arts.
It has been said that EA wants to be acquired, or at least merge with a larger player.
EA has not previously commented on the rumors but Andrew Wilson, EA CEO, says in connection with the quarterly report that they don’t close any doors. However, he believes that their situation right now is “unbelievable”. They will soon be “largest in the world” among independent game developers and publishers.
But. This can change, and Wilson is open to meeting those changes. Their goal is…
…always to take care of our people, our players, and our shareholders, and should there ever be a way for us to do that differently than the way we’re doing it today, I of course have to be open to that . But, I’ll tell you today, that we feel very, very confident and excited for our future.
