As the developers of Odinsoft announced, the in-house survival experience “Survival: Fountain of Youth” will be released for the current generation consoles in addition to the PC.
According to the official announcement, Survival: Fountain of Youth is a single-player survival title that takes us to the Caribbean of the 16th century. As a member of Juan Ponce de Leon’s expedition crew, you embark on a search for the legendary fountain of youth. After surviving a shipwreck and waking up on the shores of an uninhabited tropical island, it’s up to you to survive and find the fountain of youth.
Over 20 islands and an extensive crafting system
To stay alive, you gather various materials, cook food or build a campfire to brave the cold of the night. “Eat and hydrate yourself to keep your energy levels high, construct makeshift shelters and clothing, and turn branches and rocks into resource-gathering tools. Develop the skills to craft hundreds of items – basic spears, metal armor, leather drying stations, muskets that can shoot all manner of dangerous wildlife – all in the name of survival.”
In “Survival: Fountain of Youth” you explore more than 20 islands according to the developer. To get from one island to another, you build five different types of boats, ranging from simple rafts to schooners and catamarans. According to Odinsoft, the islands in turn offer varied areas and numerous secrets waiting to be discovered.
