In early June, at the annual global developer conference WWDC 2022, Apple announced many new features for CarPlay users that will become available immediately after the release of iOS 16. One of these innovations is the ability to pay for refueling at gas stations directly in the CarPlay app.

The features of the new function were revealed by the authors of the Reuters news agency. According to them, at the start, the ability to pay for refueling via CarPlay will be available only in the United States. And the first gas station chain to implement this option will be HF Sinclair, which has 1,600 gas stations across the country.

HF Sinclair representatives said that in order to pay for gas using the infotainment system, it will be necessary to install the application of the network of gas stations and fill in payment details. The new feature will be available to users in the fall, shortly after the launch of the final version of iOS 16.
