Bentley has together with the Sager Strong Foundation produced this unique Continental GT Speed Convertible. It only exists in one copy and will be auctioned off, and the money it brings in will go to blood cancer research. The car is a tribute to the sports reporter Craig Sager who was known for his flamboyant style. The very choice of colors in this case is inspired by the jacket Craig wore at the 2016 edition of the ESPY Awards. Craig suffered from the disease and died aged just 65.
Scott Reynolds of Bentley says the following:
“Our interpretation of ‘clothing’ the Continental GT Speed Convertible in something Craig would have worn honors him and his vibrant, enduringly positive, and uplifting spirit. It’s our aspiration that further enhancing this car with the signatures of Craig’s family, both on and off the court, will create an iconic piece of rolling memorabilia: a lighthouse of hope for those who knew and loved Craig.”
Craig’s signature is on the headrests and other big names in the world of sports will also adorn the car in various places, such as Magic Johnson, Dikembe Mutombo, Jamal Anderson, Trea Turner and Dave Roberts. More names will be added as the car goes on tour in the US, then auctioned off early next year.
