The Astropad Studio 5.1 update is out today, and the company detailed the custom keyboard shortcuts feature in a blog post and video walkthrough.

Per Application Setting – Keys are saved per application, so you can have one set for Photoshop, another for Illustrator, etc. Hide/Show Modifier Keys – Hide some or all of the traditional modifier keys, such as Option (⌥) or CTRL (⌘) . For example, if you use Option (⌥) to select colors but don’t need other keys like Command (⌘) or Shift, you can now hide everything except Option (⌥).
This means you don’t have to keep opening the sidebar to access common actions. Some Astropad suggestions for custom keys include:
Switch tools Change the size or color of the brush Add or remove layers Switch between frames
