According to the Marvel Distribution report, in the first half of 2022, sales of smartphones from Chinese manufacturers increased in Russia, while sales of iPhone and Samsung, on the contrary, decreased.
More than 100% year-on-year growth was shown by Xiaomi, realme, Tecno and Infinix. So, in the first six months, realme sold 1.1 million smartphones (last year for the same period – 498 thousand). Sales of Poco and Nokia grew by 16% and 40% respectively.
Ozon confirmed that Tecno’s sales in May-June grew 20 times, Doogee – five times.
The share of iPhone in the Russian market decreased by 14%, and Samsung – by 15%. Just over 10 million smartphones were sold in the first half of the year, down 23% from the same period last year.
Experts believe that Russian distributors will be forced to conclude long-term contracts with little-known Chinese brands, that is, the share of Chinese smartphones in the market will increase even more.
