Blizzard hasn’t ventured too far into the mobile market yet, and with the semi-success of Diablo Immortal, which pays off big, despite the criticisms, we could think that the company was going to chain the mobile releases, to maximize its profits, but it seems that this is not the case and that the company wants to select the productions which will arrive on phones. According to the latest rumours, Blizzard has worked for the past three years, with the support of NetEase, on a mobile game in the World of Warcraft universe and to offer an MMORPG experiencewhich was later discontinued.

A mobile World of Warcraft canceled by Blizzard

The information comes from the very knowledgeable Jason Schreier, who explains that Blizzard and NetEase have therefore abandoned a mobile World of Warcraft spin-off, after several years of development. A hundred people worked on the project, with the code name “Neptune”. The reasons for the cancellation of the project would be financial in particular, since the two companies would not have reached an agreement, pausing production, then finally abandoning it. So we will probably never discover this World of Warcraft mobile game, which would have taken place in Azeroth, in another era..

However, all is not lost for World of Warcraft lovers, as Blizzard is currently working on Warcraft Arclight Rumblean action and strategy game, similar to Clash Royale.
