Microsoft announced about the release of the Microsoft Teams application, optimized for computers with chips from Apple.

Microsoft Teams is a business communications platform that provides text chat, video conferencing, file storage, application integration, and more. The native version of the app will provide a “significant performance boost” to make better use of device resources and streamline the Teams experience during calls and meetings.

At Microsoft, we’re committed to delivering great products that help our customers work better and faster on their favorite devices. We’ve heard from our customers on Macs with Apple processors that they would like Teams to be optimized for their devices. We’re bringing to market a universal, production-grade version of Teams, which means it will run on all Mac devices, including devices with an Apple processor.

Microsoft says all Mac users will automatically receive the latest Teams update, and a public version of the naive app on computers with Apple chips will roll out to customers gradually over the coming months.
