Apple Stores and Authorized Service Providers have received a new diagnostic tool to help identify unexpected iPhone reboots.
When a customer with an iPhone 11 or later comes to the service center and complains about random reboots, the employee can run the System Stability utility. The latter will examine the device’s analytics logs for the past 14 days to determine if the iPhone has actually rebooted unexpectedly.
If the diagnosis confirms the situation, then Apple will send the equipment for repair to technicians. Otherwise, the employee will prompt the customer to review the new support document, which contains troubleshooting tips and software updates.
The new System Stability diagnostic package is part of the Apple Service Toolkit 2.
