The shooting of the series The Boys was not easy.
The filming of Herogasm was not easy. If it was particularly traumatic for the production team, the episode was also more complicated than expected to shoot. Asked by Digital Spy, the actor Karl Urban returned to the underside of a shoot not quite like the others. Between two particularly intense sex scenes, the team notably ended up running out of fake sperm.
A not really usual situation, but to which the series seems to be accustomed: “This season, it was quite obvious that everything was pushed to the maximum. There is more action, drama, courage. And I think that gave a boost to all the departments, like the make-up department: they ran out of blood in episode 3 and out of sperm in episode 6. So that was a challenge for everyone those involved”, confided the actor.
If Karl Urban did not specify the scene which had caused this shortage, we can already imagine that the character of the Cream was particularly involved. Remember that during the superheroic orgy, Laz Alonso was literally sprayed with cum. For lack of time and means, Eric Kripke has also had to revise certain sequences of the series downwards. In an interview with the American media TV Line, the director explains: “We also wanted to make a running gag with these huge fire hoses projecting fluids. There must have been one of a woman spraying Hughie all over his body.”
One more episode before the grand finale
After a seventh episode broadcast today, the adventures of Hughie and Butcher are almost at their end. The eighth and final episode will be released on Friday, July 8, and should offer viewers a well-deserved conclusion. For its part, the filming of the fourth season has just begun.
